CHICOPEEĀ - As city officials began a new sewer separation project on four Willimansett streets, they received news that a rare grant will be available to help defray a little of the cost. The city will receive $687,500 to help fund the project, which is estimated to cost about $5.8 million. The grant money is part of a Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection grant for $1.5 million to be shared between Springfield, Chicopee and Holyoke to help fund different projects to reduce the overflow of raw sewage into local rivers.
