Four town council candidates survive Greenfield primary election

Three sitting councilors and one newcomer will advance to the Nov. 7 general election. GREENFIELDĀ -- Four candidates will vie for two at-large seats on the Town Council after Tuesday's primary election. Incumbent Penny Ricketts, Precinct 8 Councilor Ashli Stempel, Precinct 6 Councilor Maria Burge, and newcomer Andrew Killeen will advance to the town's Nov. 7 general election. At-large candidate Joseph Gochinski, a former Greenfield selectman, was eliminated from the ballot. Greenfield saw a 10 percent voter turnout, with 1,158 of 11,666 registered voters casting ballots, reports the Greenfield Recorder.
